When considering a Piano for a narrowboat the main concerns are space, power and sound. Keyboards are beneficial in as far as they are light weight and can be moved around easily at only around 5-7kgs, and battery powered, where as a Digital Piano’s mounted in wooden case can weigh anything up to 40kgs, and are mains powered.
The SR-PH80 is powered by 9-12V DC supply so with the aid of a DC to DC converter, converting 9-14VDC IN to 12VDC OUT you could run this piano direct off a 12V Lighter socket on the boat rather than going through an inverter.
It is also important to consider one that does not encroach onto the living space as a narrowboat is only 6’10” wide. A standard keyboard can only be used as a keyboard and takes up a large space in the boat, whereas the SHEIRIN SR-PH80 can be used as a Desk, a Dressing Table or a sideboard whilst the keyboard draw is closed, whilst also only being 34cm Deep, yet this piano is still full size with 88 weighted keys and comes with the 3 pedals as standard, making it an ideal contender for use in small spaces like Bedsits, Dorms or for use on Boats.
